Le at the Spina Bifida Association have posted this short video to raise awareness of Spina Bifida month.
In October in October, this month, Spina Bifida Association and other organisations will hold activities designed to better educate the general public on this challenging medical condition.
Help Spread Spina Bifida Awareness
The severity of the condition is dependent on the size and location of the spinal opening is located. It is crucial to take into consideration the location of the injury and the number of nerves affected within the affected region.
There are three types of spina Bifida. They are Myelomeningocele, Meningocele, and Spina Bifida Occulta. Myelomeningocele can be the most serious that causes a sac fluid to enter a part of the back of the child. Meningocele is similar, except that the spinal cord is not able to enter the sac. In the end, Spina Bifida Occulta is the least severe form of spina bifida, and can often go undiagnosed for years. Be aware that the more you know the more you can educate others, and aid in the closure to this disease.
